The KRI Level One Aquarian Teacher Training Program is a 220-hour professional certification program in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan ®. An interactive course in the theory, practice, and basic skills of a Kundalini Yoga instructor, it includes 180 hours of classroom instruction and 40 hours of independent study: service projects, a 40-day meditation, and White Tantric Yoga. Graduates of Level One earn the title of KRI Certified Instructor of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® and fulfill the Yoga Alliance RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) 200-hour requirement.
There are several components in a Level One program, including but not limited to:
Kriya and Meditation: The foundation of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® The theory and practice of Kundalini Yoga kriyas (yoga sets), asanas, and mudras. Explore the nature of the mind and its training through Kundalini Yoga meditations, mantras, and pranayam (breathing techniques).
Humanology and Philosophy: The Lifestyle of a Kundalini Yoga Teacher The history and tradition of Kundalini Yoga, as well as the underlying philosophy behind all yogic practices. The technologies of Kundalini Yoga as they apply to healing and humanology (the science of daily living), including diet, nutrition, and relationships.
Anatomy & Physiology: Essentials of Yogic and Functional Anatomy Traditional Western anatomy, its purpose and function, including the respiratory, nervous, immune, musculoskeletal, circulatory, endocrine, and digestive systems and their relation to the practice and teaching of yoga. Also Yogic anatomy and the energy systems of the body including the chakras, nadis, pranas and vayus, and the ten yogic bodies.
Consciousness of a Teacher The skills and techniques to become an effective instructor, including practical strategies for teaching beginners, ethical guidelines, curriculum development, and the transformational role of the teacher in developing a successful yoga practice.
The Practicum Practical experience instructing a yoga class under the supervision of a KRI Yoga Teacher Trainer, receiving written evaluation and student feedback.

In addition to the 11 weekends of live training, you will be required to fulfill the following:
- Attend one day of White Tantric Yoga. This is a separate fee and you can look at the schedule on www.whitetantricyoga.com. - Attend 20 kundalini yoga classes throughout the 10 months of training. This classes are not included on the training fee but if taking them at SAT NAM Wellness they are offered at a discounted rate of $5/class for trainees. - Homework consists of reading the text book that you will receive as part of your course materials. Its about one page per day or about 20-30 pages per month average. - If you happen to miss a weekend or any portion of the weekend, a video of the weekend will be provided via Vimeo for your make up work. The video can't be downloaded as it is considered intellectual property of the training but it can be viewed as many times as you want. You would then write a summary of what you have learned when watching the videos. If you need extra help or explanation there will be group leaders to help you assimilate the content you missed.

Lead Trainer Deva Kauris a Lead Trainer in the Aquarian Teacher Training Program, through which she has been certifying KRI Kundalini Yoga teachers since 1996.She attended every Women’s Camp Yogi Bhajan taught starting in 1977, and has shared the women’s teaching with women around the globe. Joining the Kundalini yoga ashram when she was just 17, she has served the Kundalini Yoga community tirelessly in South Florida for over 35 years.. Kirn Kaur moved to America from the Netherlands in 1975, met Yogi Bhajan and discovered Kundalini Yoga. For many years she assisted Yogi Bhajan in the running of camps for children and women, the Espanola ashram and a boarding school in India. Her current work focuses on the integration of yogic life skills as well as alternative healing approaches. Kirn serves as the director for Yoga Santa Fe and travels to share these teachings.
Japa K. Khalsa, DOM, is a Kundalini Yoga teacher and Associate Trainer in the KRI Aquarian Trainer Academy. She began her training in Yoga and Oriental Medicine 20 years ago in Chicago. She is a gifted integrative Doctor and her private practice addresses the needs of all ages and types of ailments including pain issues, auto-immunity, skin issues, emotional stress, anxiety, digestive issues, fatigue, headaches, and women’s health.
